Hoy por medio de la fanpage del blog el usuario Павел Воин me hizo la recomendación de este programa que me ha llamado mucho la atención, ahora que ando mucho en lo del hardware libre y software libre.
En la ingeniería hay un programa que en general todos lo usan al menos una vez y se llama MatLab es una herramienta muy poderosa para hacer cálculos numéricos, es comercial y conseguirlo por la vía legal es costoso, para un estudiante.
“Octave o GNU Octave es un programa libre para realizar cálculos numéricos. Como indica su nombre es parte de proyecto GNU.MATLAB es considerado su equivalente comercial. Entre varias características que comparten se puede destacar que ambos ofrecen un intérprete permitiendo ejecutar órdenes en modo interactivo. Nótese que Octave no es un sistema de álgebra computacional como podría ser Maxima, sino que usa un lenguaje que está orientado al análisis numérico.” Wikipedia
Así es un MatLab de software libre y todo lo que ello implica, libre distribución y uso. Apoyo de la comunidad y mas. El único inconveniente es que no esta nativamente para windows, pero en su pagina oficial pueden encontrar unas alternativas para poder usarlo en este sistema operativo. Ya solo es cuestión de ver si tiene toolbox open source similares a MatLab.
